A two-vehicle crash took three lives on highway 96 in Milton around 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating this head-on crash in which a male in one of the vehicles along with a man and wife in another were killed.

The trooper’s accident report shows that 52-year old Natasha Bingham of Knoxville was traveling toward Murfreesboro (westbound) on highway 96. She attempted to pass the car in front of her and slammed head-on into a second vehicle driven by 51-year old Mark Bingham. 54-year old Christopher Hash was a passenger in the car that was traveling away from Murfreesboro (eastbound). Both persons in the second vehicle were from Cookeville.

The investigation showed that none of the persons were using their seat restraints.

Troopers kept the highway closed into Saturday evening hours, while they completed their investigation. In addition, units from Rutheroford County Fire and Rescue, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office assisted at the tragic crash scene.
